Colombia, July 2025. – Colombiamoda 2025 officially inaugurates its 36th edition with a national circuit that consolidates Medellín as the epicenter where business, culture, design, and identity come together so that all of Colombia can experience the spirit of fashion. In this edition, the fair ceases to be merely a stage and transforms into an urban experience that articulates iconic spaces of the Antioquia capital such as Plaza Mayor, Parques del Río, Plaza Botero, and the Metropolitan Theater, projecting Colombian and Latin American fashion towards key international markets with a high differentiating value.
The launch of this journey was marked by the inaugural runway show of Agua Bendita and Agua by Agua Bendita at Plaza Botero, which highlighted the designer’s distinctive mark alongside the cultural essence of Medellín and transformed the heart of the city into a living stage of creativity. With over 600 exhibiting brands, 12,000 buyers from 40 countries, 25 runway shows, more than 50 academic sessions, and over 100 events, Colombiamoda reaffirms Medellín as the host city for the continent’s most important and unique fashion circuit.
“Colombiamoda demonstrates how a country can embrace creativity and forges its identity into a global platform. It is talent that becomes industry, innovation that generates impact, and a vision that understands fashion as a driver of culture, development, and social transformation. From Medellín, we are showing the world that Latin America has its own language capable of transcending borders within the global Fashion System,” states Sebastián Díez, Executive President of Inexmoda.
For over 36 years, Medellín has opened its arms to the Colombian and Latin American fashion industry, reaffirming its textile and creative vocation. Today, the city is dressed in fashion through a circuit that highlights its culture, its infrastructure, and a history marked by the legacy of its companies, evolving towards a future driven by brands, design, and emerging industries, consolidating it as an epicenter where tradition and innovation project Colombia into the global Fashion System.
“Here, our entrepreneurs, the entire textile, apparel, and fashion sector thrive, but so do our taxi drivers, restaurant owners, bar owners, hoteliers, and those who sell their goods on the street—and that’s a positive dynamic for the city. Additionally, fashion shows are no longer just behind closed doors; they take place in city venues. Yesterday, for example, the inaugural show was at Plaza Botero, today’s is in Ciudad del Río, meaning people will see how fashion takes over public spaces, and that also boosts the economy,” highlights Medellín’s Mayor, Federico Gutiérrez Zuluaga.
Inter Rapidísimo, official sponsor of Colombiamoda for the third consecutive year, reaffirms its commitment to an industry that projects Colombia’s identity to the world. The company carries its message of transformation by promoting fashion that connects territories, ecosystems, and communities, strengthening Latin American identity and the sustainable commitment that defines this new edition.
“This year, from Inter Rapidísimo, we connect brands to plant life in Colombia’s páramos, a commitment we maintain in our goal to plant 2,000 frailejones (Espeletia),” indicates Isaac Chaparro, Creative Vice President of Inter Rapidísimo.
A New Circuit of Fashion, Inspiration, and Business

An Edition that Embraces Colombian Fashion
Colombiamoda 2025 weaves a narrative that transcends Medellín. The second edition of Colombiamoda Miami brought the event to an international stage; Bogotá became an urban runway with an artistic intervention by Alejandro Crocker in TransMilenio; Santa Marta celebrated its 500 years with “Perla del Trópico” (Pearl of the Tropic) by Anthias x Bless HS; Cúcuta presented a capsule that showcased regional talent, and Colectivo Vallecaucano will inspire with the DNA of brands from the country’s southwest.
Colombiamoda also recognizes the industry’s business legacy; on its first day, Inexmoda and the Mayor’s Office of Medellín presented the Avant award to Grupo Éxito, an acknowledgment that highlights its contribution to the economic development of Medellín, Antioquia, and the country.
Fashion System Drives Economy, Sustainability, and Culture
The Fashion System in Colombia moves over 8 billion dollars in apparel and footwear, and exceeds $33 trillion when including leather goods and home textiles. It generates over 738,000 direct jobs, of which 72% are held by women and 43% by female heads of household. Textile and apparel exports reach over 140 countries, with Antioquia accounting for 58% of foreign sales, reinforcing the region as a hub for Latin American fashion with global projection.
In this regard, sustainability continues to be a cross-cutting theme of Colombia Fashion Week. The Sustainability Route connects 50 companies with practices aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals; the Materials Library explores biotechnologies, recycled fibers, and biomaterials; the Circular Fashion Market, in partnership with Coca-Cola, promotes ventures with positive social impact; and the Green Talks, together with Veja, consolidate Medellín as a conversation laboratory on the conscious future of the industry.
With a city circuit that celebrates the region’s design and designer’s mark, Colombiamoda 2025 opens its doors as a platform that inspires through design, connects cultures, fosters businesses, and reaffirms Colombia as a creative and business epicenter, capable of boosting the global Fashion System from Latin America.
